Staff Shop Runs a Clothing Drive in Support of Mission Thrift Store

Staff ShopMedia & Press

Staff Shop is a privately held Canadian-Indigenous-Women owned staffing and consulting firm servicing Canada, USA, Caribbean as an award-winning diverse supplier, certified with CCAB, CAMSC, WBE & WEConnect International. With philanthropy close to our hearts we believe that during our short time on earth we have a responsibility to elevate people and glorify God’s unconditional love.

In the spirit of both philanthropy and wellness, Staff Shop’s team embarked on the journey to spring clean their homes and gather items to donate to Mission Thrift Store Mississauga.  Unlike its for-profit competitors like Value Village or Talize, Mission Thrift is a non-profit, volunteer-driven, Christian organization with over 50 stores across Canada supporting the BFM foundation. Our COO, Alison Hernández sits on the Board of Directors as well, demonstrating her faith and commitment to bringing in donations like ours to the organization.

Staff Shop understands the importance of supporting organizations like Mission Thrift, who work tirelessly toward improving the lives of those in need. With a firm belief in giving back to the community, Staff Shop jammed an SUV full with several enormous bags of clothing, home items, books, electronics and more to assist Mission Thrift in their noble endeavours.

Staff Shop’s Philanthropy lead, Rebecca Sepulveda states, “Uniting as a team to collect donations and witness the heartfelt appreciation at the Mission Thrift Store was a testament to the power of collective generosity. Seeing the genuine gratitude on their faces was truly uplifting. It’s moments like these that remind me of the profound impact we can make when we work together towards a common goal and ‘make space for grace’. I’m immensely proud and honoured to be part of a company that prioritizes giving back to our community.”

The donation from Staff Shop positively impacts lives within the local community and extends to communities globally, fostering sustainability by repurposing items. Mission Thrift stores collaborate with diverse local agencies to distribute donated items to individuals facing challenges such as fire, homelessness, or other crises, ensuring meaningful support within their own community.  Additionally, it reduces landfill waste by promoting the stewardship principles of reduce, reuse and recycle. In 2019 an estimated 23,000,000 pounds were diverted from local landfills. That’s just over one pound for every dollar sold!

Donations to Mission Thrift Store are always welcome. Your support can bring warmth, dignity, and hope to individuals and families in need. You can find your closest Mission Thrift Store location HERE.
