As a temporary help agency and certified diverse supplier, Staff Shop Inc. provides assignment employees to our Clients across various industries, in all ten Canadian provinces, with clients in the United States and the Caribbean. We provide direct hire search services and other business support services as well, but the below pertains to our Temporary Staffing division and policies for our assignment employees.

Our mandate, above all, is to provide quality staff to our Clients, who meet the requirements of each Client site. We have Clients who require that all Staff provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a notarized medical or religious exemption. We also have Clients who do not require this, but instead ask that we adhere to their screening requirements, antigen testing, or other protocols.

Ultimately, we at Staff Shop do not discriminate when it comes to providing meaningful employment to our staff. Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, class, caste, religion, belief, sex, gender, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex characteristics, age (within the confines of the Employment Standards Act), health, disability or medical history including vaccination status. We believe everyone has value, and that people, regardless of any of the aforementioned factors, can make a significant contribution to the workforce and ultimately the economy of Canada.

That said, we have strict protocols in place to ensure that we are able to comply with our Client’s expectations on the work site, provided those expectations are in accordance with municipal, Provincial and Federal employment standards.

When accepting an order, our Bookings team of qualified recruiters and account managers conduct a full discovery to identify the unique needs of the Client site in question. This includes obtaining a copy of their Vaccine policy, if applicable. We must be made aware of our Client’s COVID-19 protocols and vaccine expectations at the time of ordering.

For those Clients who mandate full vaccination as a condition of employment for their in-house staff, we only deploy staff who are able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a notarized medical or religious exemption. We do not compel, coerce, or mandate our staff to disclose their vaccination status; however, if they wish to be considered for certain assignments, they must volunteer to disclose their vaccination status and meet the requirements according to Client policy. Should they be unable to do so, they are welcome to apply for our assignments with Clients who do not have this requirement in place.

All Employees, regardless of vaccination status, are required to abide by Staff Shop’s COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols. A full breakdown, including an outline of our self-screening requirement and conditions, personal hygiene directives, and expectations for close-contact cases and international travel, can be made available on request.
