Youth Program Counsellor:$22-26/hr

What will you be doing?
This is a hands-on role working with the youth in our residential assessment and treatment program, who are struggling with mental health, and social issues, behavioural challenges and learning disorders. As an integral part of the team, you may be supporting our clients throughout the day in group, the classroom or outdoors during recreational time. You are a key member of our team and our client’s well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Program Counsellor you will be adept in conflict resolution, crisis intervention and collaborative problem solving. You are a caring individual who leads with empathy and seeks to understand. You possess the ability to quickly establish positive rapport and are able confidently and constructively manage group dynamics. Ultimately, you effectively support youth to make and sustain positive behavioural changes. As a team member you will be responsible for planning, motivating and enthusiastically leading youth in a wide variety of healthy lifestyle and physical activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
The successful candidate will have direct experience working with youth, preferably in a residential treatment setting, possess a diploma or degree in a related field of study, and be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings/ weekends. Valid driver’s license required.
Job Type:
- Full-time (variety of shift available-days, evenings, nights and weekends)
Schedule:
- 8 and 12 hour shifts
Salary: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
