About the role:
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Banquet, wedding, conference and private event experience is an asset
- Previous experience as a Supervisor in the Food & Beverage industry
- Manage all day to day operations, lead team, comply with health and safety
Regulations
- Provide and delegate instructions/tasks on behalf of the client to team members,
ensuring minimal questions between clients and team members
- Promote teamwork atmosphere, leading the team with a helpful, motivating, and
humble attitude while avoiding an air of superiority
- Ensure guests receive high quality and consistent service
- Possess strong leadership and mentor-like qualities
- Track hours via timesheet for all staff onsite and collect signatures for client
approval
- Be able to take initiative and keep the overall success of the event as the main goal
and objective
- Provide support and guidance to the front of house and back of house staff
- Act as the Staff Shop representative via on-site communications
- Complete Supervisor Checklist while on site
- Submit Supervisor Recap Form at the end of each shift
- Promote a positive Staff Shop morale, ensuring employees are friendly, engaged, and
happy at work
- Check up on team members throughout shifts to ensure quality and completion of tasks
- Print and track staff hours via provided timesheet for all team members onsite and collect
both initials from staff and approval signatures from clients
- Print and track documents to record any uniform deductions
- Manage breaks per client expectations, documenting accordingly and covering staff
positions when necessary in 15-minute increments
- Ensure team members are maintaining uniform requirements, cleanliness, and health and
safety standards
- Address any Health and Safety issues or incidents, escalating to Staff Shop internal staff as
needed
- Escalate any client feedback, staff issues, or performance concerns to the internal Staff
Shop staff immediately and discreetly
- Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the
work areas, reach up and down, and remain stationary at times throughout work periods
- Be able to focus on the job while standing and moving about freely, which can include
bending, climbing stairs and carrying items weighing up to 25lbs and able to lift up to
50lbs with another person to assist
- Be flexible for varying shifts/hours and overtime
- Be punctual, reliable, and committed to each assignment
- Hold the proper liquor service certifications based on provincial requirements (if/when
serving alcohol), and follow all alcoholic beverage control policies
- Preferred experience:
o 6 months- 1 year of previous employment with Staff Shop
o Excellent attendance record and punctuality
o Organization and timely coordination via email, phone, text
o 3-5 years hospitality experience including serving, bartending and supervising
